The Alcohol Screening Test Technician (STT) Web Training Course is DOT-approved and considered the standard in the industry.
In order to become a certified STT for DOT Testing, Hands-On Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) Proficiency Training must be completed separately following successful completion of the STT Web Course within 30 days. Hands-On Training can be easily coordinated by SAPAA’s STT Web Training Course Provider (more information below.)
The STT Web Course takes New STTs approximately 3-4 hours to complete, and STT Refreshers about 2 hours. The STT Course includes:
- Videoclip Scenarios of typical STT testing situations such as:
- DOT Screening (Negative)
- DOT Screening Test (Positive)
- Insufficient Sample
- Refusal to Test
- Printable Documents including:
- DOT STT Student Manual
- Hands-On Proficiency Sheet
- 49 CFR Part 40
- On Line Final Exam with automatic email to SAPAA and your Training Administrator with results of the Exam (85% passing score required. 3 attempts maximum.)
- Printable Certificate valid for 5 Years

IMPORTANT: We suggest calling APS at the time of ordering the STT Web Course to ensure all the training requirements will be met, and to arrange for hands-on training if needed. DOT requires completion of both the STT Web and Hands-On Proficiency Training within 30 days.
